Your smile is important. It's one of the first things you notice when you meet someone. A whiter, brighter smile is beautiful - it can help you feel better about yourself and make a memorable impression.

Your lifestyle and the aging process can stain and darken your teeth. Many things we do on a regular basis can contribute to stained teeth, such as drinking coffee, tea, cola and red wine or smoking.

Whitening can get your smile looking its best. You should look for a whitening procedure that is:

  • Fast and convenient
  • Long lasting
  • Low sensitivity
  • Proven to be safe and effective
  • Performed by a Dental Professional

The Zoom 2 In-Office Whitening System is a revolutionary tooth whitening procedure. It's safe effective and very fast. In just 2 hours, your teeth will be dramatically whiter. Zoom 2 Whitening is ideal for anyone looking for immediate results. The convenience of Zoom 2 Whitening in comparison to weeks of wearing trays and gradual whitening makes it the perfect choice for the busy patient.

The Zoom 2 light activated gel was developed after years of research by Discus Dental, the leaders in professional take-home tooth whitening. The gel is a scientifically formulated, pH balanced Hydrogen Peroxide that, when activated by the Zoom 2 light, gently penetrates the teeth to remove deep stains and discoloration. With proper care and an occasional touch-up at home, your whiter smile will sparkle for years.

Other whitening systems don't compare to the Zoom 2 Whitening System. Nothing whitens better or faster.

How long does the procedure take?
The Zoom! Whitening takes approximatelytwo hours.
It can be done right after the cleaning, time permitting.

What’s the actual procedure like?
Please visit www.zoomnow.com for a slide show.
During the procedure, you will not be left alone in the treatment room. An assistant will be present during the entire treatment. In addition, you will be given a pad and pen to communicate with us, and will be able to enjoy the music or watch tv.

Does it hurt?
Sensitivity during treatment and for 24 hours post-treatment may occur with some patients. The Zoom! Light generates minimal heat, which is usually the source of discomfort. On rare occasions, minor tingling sensations are experienced immediately after the procedure but always dissipate shortly thereafter. Dr. Bennett can also provide patients with anti-sensitivity toothpaste for use prior to treatment.

How long do results fromwhitening last?
The whitening lasts indefinitely with proper home care, all of which will be reviewed during the visit. We can provide you with bleaching trays to "touch up" in between cleaning appointments for an additional charge.

Is there anyone who does not qualify for the Zoom! treatment?
Yes, unfortunately. Before you can be considered as a candidate for tooth whitening, a thorough examination is necessary to determine the strength and condition of your teeth. If you have large fillings or crowns in your front teeth, tooth whitening may not be an option. In addition, children under 12, pregnant and lactating women, and patients taking certain medications cannot whiten with Zoom! You must provide us with written consent of a parent or legal guardianif under18 years or older.

The following medications are commonly considered to be photo reactive and may cause an adverse reaction if used in conjunction with the Zoom! Light.

  • Aldoclor, Diupres, Diuril
  • Aldacteride, Aldoril, Capozide, Dyazide, Hydroiuril, Lopressor, Orotic, Moduretic

If I am on one of the medications above, can I still bleach my teeth?
Yes. We will prepare you for the procedure exactly the same way as for the Zoom!, however, we use a different bleaching product that does not need to be light activated. The long term results are excellent. Home care is necessary to reach ideal results.
